Seems to me that this is another example of a “buzz word” being bandied about by a lot of people who actually have no clue what it means (ie. lexile).
Although embracing new technology can benefit staff and patrons, we must employ caution as well as professionalism in making sure that we don’t get so caught up in the rush to be on the cutting edge that we lose sight of our mission. Some of these new technologies are great for personal use, but are not appropriate for the Library System. Just as we evaluate our collection and the web sites that we link to, we must look closely at these new ideas.
